Come learn the techniques, tips and tricks to design and create a one of a kind quilt using one fabric and stack and whack to make hexagons. Class will consist of creating the hexagons, designing with them, and demos in finishing the quilt top. A follow up class will be available for finishing your one of a kind quilt. Learn the age old craft of primitive rug hooking using wool fabric strips and a simple hook to produce whimsical rugs and other objects. You will learn the basics of rug hooking as well as the many options of "finishing" a hooked piece.
You will need to bring a 12" or 14" quilting hoop, rug hook and scissors to class. (These are available for purchase at class.)

What a good way to use your fabric remnants! In this "beginners" class, you will make a large hot pad to learn the locker hooking technique. Locker hooking uses a locker hook, rug canvas, string and your choice of fabric remnants.

Perfect for class? Perfect to shop? Both!!!
Enjoy having this tote to go with roomy inside and outside pockets. The inside of this tote will easily hold your 6” x 24” ruler, a 14 ½” square and other class supplies or lots of fabric to add to your stash! Outside pocket will accommodate a 12” x 12” quilt and press.
Contact me during class if you would like me to create a personalized label for your tote using your fabric at the prepaid cost of $7.50. The label would be made and sent to you within 10 days from the date you have taken the class.

Voyager Basics |

An interactive lecture with answers to most commonly asked Voyager & Stretch Frame questions covering the following:
-Loading a quilt on the frame
-Setting up the machine correctly
-Starting and stopping your stitches, keeping length constant
-Adjusting Upper and Lower thread tension
-Troubleshooting tension and stitching issues
-Basic machine repair
-Using Voyager accessories
This class is a pre-requisite if you are planning on renting the longarmmachines.

CLASS POLICIES
Class fees are payable at the time of registration. You may register in person or by phone. Phone registrations can be done with your credit card.
A supply list will be given to you at the time of registration. Class participants receive 10% off all materials and supplies for the class. We will be happy to assist you in making your selections.
Class fees are non-refundable. If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, we will reschedule. If a class is cancelled by Material Matters, you will receive a full refund of class fees paid.
Classes have a minimum enrollment of three students. We will let you know in advance if the class will not be held.
A limited number of sewing machines will be available for use during class. A $5 fee per class session will be charged. Be sure to let us know at the time of registration if we can reserve a machine for you. |
